The 90-Day Local SEO Playbook for Multi-Location Brands
Multi-location SEO fails when every location is managed like a snowflake. It wins with systems: the same playbook, executed relentlessly across every market. Here’s the 90-day version.
Days 1–30: Audit and fix the foundation
Score every location: Google Business Profile completeness, NAP consistency across the top 50 citations, duplicate listings, category selection, and photo quality. Suppress duplicates, fix inconsistencies, and fill every empty field. Most brands find 20–40% of their locations have a critical issue — wrong hours, wrong category, or a duplicate siphoning reviews.
Days 31–60: Reviews and location pages
Launch a review engine: automated post-visit requests, response playbooks in your brand voice, and escalation paths for negative reviews. In parallel, rebuild location pages — unique content per market, local schema, embedded maps, and real photos. Templated pages with swapped city names don’t rank; pages with genuine local substance do.
Days 61–90: Build and defend
Earn local links — sponsorships, local press, community partnerships — and start rank tracking per market with competitor gap analysis. Map pack positions are rented, not owned: monthly monitoring is the price of keeping them.
